Telde

The access road to this historic city is framed
with canary flowers and plants.

With an extension of 100,2 KM²  and 85.000 inhabitants,
Telde is the biggest and most populated city
in the east of Gran Canaria.

The Leon y Castillo Museum

A couple of streets further away the old city, it is situated the
"Leon y Castillo Museum".
These two typical canary buildings exhibit a considerable collection of works of art, with artists such as:

Raimundo Madrazo, A. Caula
und José Arencibia Gil.

Fertility symbol

All the arqueological excavation have increased  the cultural heritage and the importance of the subsoil, day by day. As an example, the fertility symbol which has an important meaning in this region.

hability of the inhabitants, there are lots of
shop and industrial areas in Telde.

Specially apreciated and typical of the coastal regions:
"Ojos de Garza", "Melenara" and "La Garita"
it is the grill of fresh fish.
The most of the fishers of Telde live in "Melenara".
Women and men sail with their boats every day,
and then, they sell the catch of a hard fishing day
on the beach.

The inhabitants of  Telde love sports, "La Carrera de Campeones" is a kind of rally in which pilots of all over the world compete!

The Carnival is also very popular here. Fancy dresses are beautiful and bright and the best ones always get a prize. The high point of this Carnival is the cavalcade in which cars and people go along the streets.
